The market for ground calcium carbonate (GCC) in Western Europe is one of the largest in the world. CCA-Europe brings together the main EU players in the different calcium carbonate sectors (chalk, limestone, marble, dolomite, PCC).

Membership conditions / how to become a member

Membership to CCA-Europe is open to Full and Associate members, fulfilling the following criteria:

  • Full membership is open to all persons, associations and companies having a subsidiary or business unit, engaged within the geographic area of Europe in the business of winning, working and/or selling calcium carbonate and associated products, and who manifest a competence and a real interest in participating actively in the achievements of the association's goals.
  • Associate membership is open to any natural person or legal entity, including subsidiaries of Full Members, which Board of Directors considers able to contribute usefully to the attainment of the goals of the Association.

Membership Applications need to be made in writing to the Secretary General and will be submitted to the Board of Directors at its next meeting for approval or rejection. (Ref. Association by-laws).

Charier SA is a family-owned company, founded in 1897, with a very long experience of quarrying but now developed also in road construction and waste industry. Production of minerals is around 5 millions tons of different types (diorite, granite, gneiss, marine sand, limestone) for aggregates (road construction, concrete) or agricultural and industries supplies. ( was founded in 1966 and is part of the OMYA Group. The company mainly produces chalk for around 1,4 Mio tons per year. The headquarters are located in Söhlde (Germany) and the company has 3 production sites situated in Söhlde, Lägerdorf and Rügen. Dammann produces chalk for user industries such as the paper, rubber,cable, animal food, agricultural and environmental.
